'The Money God'

The reason why we call him 'The Money God' is that he is believed to be the richest man to have ever walked on the earth. His net worth surpasses the combined net worth of around fifty richest men today! Ladies and gentlemen! We're talking about John D. Rockefeller.

He earned billions of dollars by revolutionizing the petroleum industry and changed millions of lives by transforming the structure of modern philanthropy. His career had humble beginnings.

At the age of 16, he started as a assistant bookkeeper at the salary of 50 cents a day. Four years later he ventured into commission business, banking on his networking and selling skills. After printing some notes in that business for four years, he built an oil refinery with his guys...and never looked back. He went on to establish the biggest company in the world, which was eventually ordered to be split into 33 companies, evidently because it was too big and powerful.

The most interesting facet of this man's story is that he retired from the business sooner than most of the people in the world, spending the last 40 years of his life in retirement. While other people of his age were busy earning degrees and licking corporate asses, he was busy creating history.
